Verisimilitude
: Likeliness, an attachment to realism, in other words, exquisite attention to detail.

In the late 1970s, there was perhaps no greater phenomenon in cinema than the gargantuan emergence of the blockbuster when it came to cinema. Revolutionized by directors like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, these high-octane and commercial juggernauts became a new fuse for the Hollywood Film Industry. Even more spectacular was their near limitless reach on an entirely new generation of children, those that would soon live in a counter-cultural renaissance based around freedom of thought, worldly tensions, and an insurmountable advancement in technology. Before there was Marvel Universe’s inter-connected universe or the realized versions of Tolkien’s fantasy epics, there was a stunning figurehead of patriotism that swept the hearts and minds of every single young American in a single flight. His name? Christopher Reeve, who played daytime reporter Clark Kent during the film’s exposition, and its alien protector Superman, at its most strenuous of situations.

Used to show the difference in eras of Superman and the character's long-lasting identity/similarities over time.

There has truly never been a superhero like Superman, neither before, nor after the revitalization of the comic book industry in the mid-1980s during its “Silver Age”, or even the darker overtones of character studies seen in films like “The Batman”, “Joker” or “Logan”. Superman is a nigh invulnerable being with every single one of his attributes taken to the utmost extreme. If there was ever a King Arthur-like roundtable for extraterrestrials, he would happily lean back in a gilded chair at the very top, cockeyed and grinning at his spoils of victory all the while. However, invulnerability to physical attacks or super strength is not what endears him to the public. What endears Superman, and really Christopher Reeve’s position as this lionheart of Americana, is the sheer fact that he was taken a chance on.

Christopher Reeve was Warner Brothers’ last choice to play the giant initially and came onto the film very late in the process. Although sharing a similar build to the comic-book extraordinaire, he was considered slim and inexperienced, posing a potential major risk to the return on investment at the time. The films Superman I and Superman II were poised to be created back-to-back, to minimize contractual disputes and flexibility in case of a disastrous opening weekend. Before production began, Superman I was estimated to have the single highest budget for a movie ever in 1977. In short, there was a mountain’s worth of pressure rising on the young Juilliard graduate to deliver in a tremendous fashion. In the movie, Superman himself struggles with his path on Earth, being adopted by his regular human parents, and juggling his ethos and responsibilities towards the safety of others. Like anybody else, he has secrets that weigh his person, but he resolves to rise above the temptations of evil, discover his purpose, and mightily embody all that it means to be a self-serving, mighty, and proud citizen of the United States. His emblem resembles the American flag, and his stature and signature power are known worldwide for the solidarity they provide, whether under the brightest of lights or the peskiest of shadows.

Even in paralysis, there is never any fear when you take pride in your appearance, take pride in your sensibility, and take pride in your love for the world around you. Remember Mr. Reeve as a beacon, and in turn, become one yourself.

Verisimilitude 78 is a beautifully crafted, strong, woody Perfume (Extrait de parfum) containing a nearly 45% concentration within it. It all begins with a strong Cedar base that recalls the countryside in which Clark Kent himself grew up. A taste of masculinity from a timeless memory. Then a potent vanilla to help bring out savorous tones of the wood and meld together to keep the smell lasting even longer. This allows our scent to emit a simple but powerful note of sensuality and stability. Finally, a hint of blood orange for color and zest, bringing out the best in color uniqueness. Under any circumstance, any weather, or any occasion, the sophistication and sharpness of our essential oils create a realistic and truth-bearing scent for all to bask in.

All the fauna utilized in the scent is grown in the South of France, in the region of Galimard, in an independent perfumery that has been family-owned since before the original Superman was created in 1938. None of our scents are animal-tested, they are all-natural, organic byproducts of the jungle of our very surroundings. They are, as nature intended them to be, as Superman would have wanted them protected and looked after. Earth’s most prized possessions are her forests and flowers, not her refined oils or fossil fuels.

Other name brands would mix cheap scents up and price them out of your reach, but our goal was never to make aromas that would be too unobtainable to the general public. No one deserves to have cheap tones dictate their day-to-day lives, and we were frustrated with the lack of quality control on consumer’s behalf. Our attention to detail, and sourcing from locally owned farmers in Galimard, represents our commitment to uplifting communities, no matter how big or small.

We do not need to survive off the benefit of the doubt of our consumers, but rather honest, open communication that results in some of the freshest and healthiest sourced products available on the fragrance market. There is no mixup of ingredients or steadfast baloney being fed here. Only an honored, unwritten transparency as we aim to provide high-quality products to enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Morph into the persona that has been hidden all along, rather than aspiring to become something fantastical altogether. The world is so much richer when people shed their secret identities and pursue action to the fullest extent. Pencil pushers will continue to exist until the end of time, so why not break from the stead-fast monotony and write a new chapter? Comparison is the thief of joy, and we here at Fabled Aromas urge you not to compare yourself to anybody else for that exact reason. Our scent is made to help form a unique version of yourself that only you can unlock. In the end, that is all there is to it. A sense of self that acts as a compass as you navigate life’s stormy waters.

Instead of taking the world for granted, we wanted to grant the world something spectacular.

In a world of understudies, take a whiff of something spectacular, take a whiff of something heroic, take a whiff of something powerful.

American Stamp with Superman to solidify the underlying patriotism that the character brings to the country and potential leverage when it comes to the viability of the product. Intertwining dreams and reality is essential!

Why we here at Fabled Aromas chose Superman because of what he represented to countless people around the globe, far removed from his humble beginnings but willing to stand up for his beliefs and positively empower the world around him. Without such a strong sense of character, his formation as a model within society would never have taken off.

Our company did not start out of pity, but out of joy, of finding a simple solution to strengthening confidence, to making people around the world get a little closer to their internal mythos. To be able to take on everyday challenges with the same vigor that Superman does, to smell like the challenges of the past have already been vanquished, to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder without a hint of worry. In fact, the only hints you should be smelling are cedar, vanilla, and orange. Anything else is fanciful, and we pride ourselves on the blending of the line between fantasy and reality.

In that realism, we hope you find yourself, a patron of confidence, charisma, and charity.

Christopher was the same as well.
